Around the world? Ok, so maybe not that far ... just yet. Keen explorers Gus + Finn are thirsty for big adventures. Mums in tow, with budgets and travel plans reshuffling as comes with little ones, we're challenging ourselves to discover and take advantage of all that Los Angeles has to offer.

Backyard Bubbles
The Castor family got FINN a bubble machine for his 2nd birthday. We were lucky enough to be there to experience the mighty bubbles of it's maiden blast!
Drinks the bubble juice & takes six AAs, but the bubbles come on thick and varied in all sizes - just like magic - amazing - as Finn put it!! Oh yeah!!

Montana trip número deux!
We enjoyed a beautiful week at the Glory B. Full of hikes, swims in the pool & the hot tub, playing with the doggies, crowing with the rooster, playing with cousins, cuddles from Grandma & Krampa and meeting lots and lots of relatives!

-of course my favorite activity was soaking in the backyard view while I did my daily pull ups workout!

All that fresh air made me sleepy for the flight home, lucky mum!

LACMA
So much more than just a FREE day at LACMA!
Second Tuesday of every month is FREE at LACMA.
Parking we used was $10 with validation.
Little did we know that Museum Row is actually "Food Truck" row as well!
How very LA!
We sampled Korean/Mexican fusion food or something like this, from the Komodo Truck.
Finn couldn't get enough of the parmesan truffle fries.
We gobbled up this tasty fare, pinicking under a tree between LACMA and the tar pits! Who knew they were right there?! And they smell, well, like a tar pit. We likened spotting the bubbling blobs of tar to be like spotting dolphins at the beach.
We also took in a little music from a banjo playing street performer who got Finn's toes 'a tapping!
And here we thought we were just going to see some art!
We saw plenty of art, Augustus taking in his first Gaugins, Cezannes and Monets.
We checked out some other Mummies and lovely tea sets, but still have ample to enjoy on the next visit.
And I can't wait to try some more tasty truck food!

Natural History Museum
First tuesday of each month is FREE day for all at the LA natural history museum!
Although don't forget $$ for parking, parking is $8/car.
Lots of fascinating things to see, discover and learn.
Beth taught Finn about bones, while we stood under the belly of a Finn Whale.
We saw enormous cockroaches and taruntulas in the insect room.
Very impressive selection of taxidermied animals of all shapes and sizes.
My favorite part of the day Finn's expression upon seeing the dinosaur bones in the entrance to the museum.
I think Augustus enjoyed the picnic snack time outside on the lawn.
We've still got much more to check that will last us a few more free day tuesdays!
